Founded as the first and only scholastic honor society dedicated to the field of Organization Development & Change
We focus on the scholarly growth and development of the field of organization development and change (ODC).
We recognize scholarship and scholastic achievement at the student and professional levels.
The mission of Omega Delta Chi is to recognize and honor leaders in the field of OD&C, to promote their accomplishments, and to foster both, their growth in the professional community and the growth of the professional community.
Scholars and Scholar-Practitioners in OD&C programs recognized a gap in recognition of students in the OD&C field, especially considering that the vast majority of OD&C programs, particularly in the United States, are graduate and doctoral programs and receive less attention in this manner. Although there are numerous fields with honor societies and honor fraternities of their own, and there are a variety of honor societies that are broad and interdisciplinary, they do not specifically honor innovation, achievement, and contribution to the field of OD&C.
Thus, faculty, visiting scholars, researchers, and scholar practitioners from the OD&C field decided to establish an organization that would honor scholarship, character, and innovation in the organization sciences, particularly, but not limited to OD&C. Hence, Omega Delta Chi, the international scholastic honor society in the field of organization development and change was formed.
By accepting the honor of Omega Delta Chi induction, I acknowledge that I am an organization development and change professional, student, or both, unto whom this honor has been bestowed due to achievement and commitment to the field. I acknowledge the fundamental importance of the following values as an ODC professional and as an Omega Delta Chi member. I will espouse the following values and follow these principles.
(1.) I am committed to the field of organization development and change, and the advancement and growth of the field through scholarship, practice, mentorship, leadership, and evangelization of ODC practices and impact.
(2.) I acknowledge that being a member of the ODC honor society means that, regardless whether I believe it or not, I am perceived as a leader in the field and will therefore strive to be a positive role models to those within our field.
(3.) I am committed to ensuring the honesty and integrity of my work, whether it is practice, research, publication, pedagogy, or other. Professional ethics is a key component of maintaining these values.
(4.) I am committed to the ODC values of respect, inclusion, collaboration, authenticity, self-awareness, courage, trust, empowerment, self-actualization, lifelong learning, and the pledge to prevent bigotry.
(5.) I am committed to human potential, empowerment, growth, excellence, and well-being and the role those play in organizational health. I am committed to authenticity and openness in relationships, be they business or personal relationships.
(6.) I agree that, as ODC professionals, we strive to ensure the dignity, integrity, worth and fundamental rights of individuals, organizations, communities, societies, and any other human systems.
As an honoree of Omega Delta Chi, I will:
